Engine carbon deposits, refers to the engine in the working process, oil and fuel unsaturated olefins and gums, etc., in the high-temperature state after a series of physical and chemical changes, deposited in various locations within the engine, after a period of time, the formation of a black coke-like material.
As long as the use of fossil fuels, internal combustion engines will generate carbon deposits, which is an inherent characteristic of internal combustion engines. General mild carbon does not affect the normal use of the car, only serious carbon will affect the performance of the engine, while each part of the carbon for the engine's impact is also different.
Today to analyze a few of the engine has little or no impact on the carbon parts, as well as a variety of carbon cleaning methods are really able to clean off these carbon deposits.
1.Carbon deposits in the intake tract
Intake tract carbon is also deposited by the intake pipe residual fuel vapors and oil vapors, for the manifold injection engine, due to the cleaning effect of fuel, the intake tract is rarely serious carbon deposits.
For direct injection engines, there will be a very small number of models with serious intake tract carbon deposits. Severe intake tract carbon will impede air flow, narrow the intake passages, absorb fuel, and reduce engine power.
In the case of severe intake tract carbon buildup, this can only be accomplished by disassembly and cleaning; other methods such as cleaners, walnut grit, dry ice, etc., can't physically reach this location. A sling shot will fill the intake with cleaner, but the amount of carbon that can be cleaned off is minimal.
Slight intake tract carbon will not affect the engine performance, if there is a serious carbon in the intake tract, there must be a problem with the quality of the fuel or oil, the gum content of the two is too high, or there is a problem with the crankcase forced ventilation system, resulting in a large amount of oil into the intake tract.
